"999 call admitted to A & E Food poisoning"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was taken to A & E by ambulance having collapse twice from dehydration brought on by severe food poisoning. The ambulance arrived very fast and the three lady paramedics were very professional and caring. After assesment at my home I was taken to A and E for treatment. During my 5 Hour stay I was treated by several nurses and two different doctors . The care and attention was excellent at all times . I was kept updated on my tests and the staff were under pressure with computer failures.

Dear Jon,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such kind feedback about your recent episode of care in the Emergency Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital; it is very much appreciated. First and foremost, we hope you have now recovered from your bout of food poisoning, and are feeling much better. The Trust strives to provide a high standard of care to all patients (even when the computer systems fail us!), and therefore it is reassuring to read this was your experience and that you felt staff treated you well.

We will ensure that your feedback is shared with staff who will appreciate that despite the additional pressures they faced, the care they provided was valued by patients.
