"parking"

About: Airedale General Hospital / Accident and emergency

Arrived at A and E with a seriously injured child in need of emergency treatment. There was nowhere to park, as all the drop off spaces were full. The car was left outside A and E in what turned out to be a disabled parking space whilst the child was taken in to be attended to. The parent returned to the car as soon as possible in order to move it to find a penalty notice of £70 slapped on it. This was appealed explaining the circumstances involved and the appeal was rejected ! So thank you very much for your parking policy in what was a distressing time for the family involved. The child was admitted and underwent surgery , the staff were all brilliant. Maybe the parking situation should be reviewed as it badly lets down your hospital !!

We are pleased to hear that your child has had their surgery and that you found the staff involved in their care to be brilliant. Sadly you do raise a concern regarding a parking charge notice that you received while attending our Emergency Department, and also that your appeal against the charge was rejected. We understand that this situation has now been resolved.

We do however wish to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
