"Professional, friendly caring staff"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I am due to have a triple bi pass operation within the next two weeks, I have stable Angina but I had a scare at the beginning of this month when I started to develop a constant chest ache at rest. Luckily for me I was discharged today because it looks like what I have on top of the Angina was Muscoskeletal chest pain. No chances were taken I was kept in 24 hrs, and monitored throughout and I am confident of the diagnosis.

I just want to say that everyone I came into contact during this experience from the Paramedics from St Andrews Fife through to the cleaners, the porters the nurses and Dr's at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy were very professional and friendly and put me at ease throughout my experience. Most of my time was spent in Ward 21 &23 Victoria Hospital and overall I experienced 3 shift changes and without exception the care was excellent from each of them.

Dear TrevorRobbie,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on care opinions, it's good to read that your angina has not progressed and this admission was due to muscloskeletal chest pain.

I will pass your story onto all the staff on ward 21&23, who I know will be thrilled to hear that you found their care very professional and friendly and that this put you at ease during your hospital stay. It's good to read that on discharge you felt reassured and confident with the diagnosis and I'm sure, I speak for all the staff in wishing you a full and swift recovery from your triple bypass operation in the next couple of weeks.

Take care

Jamie Gorman

Dear TrevorRobbie,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on CareOpinion. I am sorry to hear that you had chest pain but also glad to hear that is it musculoskeletal. I am also glad to hear that the care you received throughout was good and staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service and NHS Fife all made a good impression.

If you would like I can attempt to find the crew that attended you and pass on your kind words. In order to do this I would need you to email scotamb.feedback@nhs.net. Make the email for my attention and the only information I would need would be your name, the date and time the ambulance attended and where the ambulance attended.

I would like to wish you all the best in your future and I hope your bypass goes smoothly.

Kind Regards

Alan
