About: The Surgery

Since moving from the old Moor Park Surgery, there have been teething problems as is to be expected, but in general terms it is far better. The best improvement is among the reception staff who seem to be keen to give the best service that they are able to.

Okay, the waiting area could do with a less utility feel and could perhaps be improved with a few old magazines as in some other doctors surgeries (isn`t it so sad about the Titanic?) and much shorter waiting times for appointments.

Perhaps another doctor would be a thought.

All in all though, the regime is much improved.

There is one grevious annoyance in the waiting room that concerns the door into the waiting area from Garstang Road.

It should, instead of the door slamming device that seems to be fitted, have a door closing device that operates gently. Anyone waiting for a doctor who is suffering from a migraine, alcoholic remorse, or even a simple headache, would be well advised to wear ear plugs because the door bangs too, every couple of minutes. It is even more annoying when you realise, that for a simple adjustment of the unit, it could easily be fixed in a couple of minutes.

I`ve only visited 3 times since the practice moved, twice to the nurse and once to the doctor, so perhaps I have too little experience of normality. Even so, I have no reason to complain about the receptionists or the medical care.

We would like to thank you very much for you positive comments regarding the surgery.

It is a refreshing change for a patient to recognise that we have undergone a major merge and have encountered many teething problems along the way. We welcomed your appreciation of the hardworking receptionists who do go out of their way to help patients wherever possible.

The improvements in our service are on going and we have recently appointed a new Doctor and this has positively impacted on our appointment availability.

With regards to the door we agree that it is an annoying problem. During the recent heat wave (as we are in an old building without air conditioning) we have had to open some of the outer doors and the breeze may have contributed to this but we will certainly try to address the problem but we are restricted in what we can do with it being a fire door.

Thank you once again.
