In late February 2018 I had an appointment with a particular doctor for a routine injection in my shoulder, during which I commented that I hadn't had a PSA test.
The doctor organised a blood test for me on the spot and a week later the results showed a very high reading & probable prostate problems.
Another doctor organised a referral to North Manchester General as an urgent appointment.
Brilliant service.
From there I had:-
> An appointment at North Manchester the same week
> Tests the same day that diagnosed Prostate cancer
> Further tests a week later that confirmed the extent of the cancer & a referral to Christies
> By the middle of May I had robotic surgery to remove the prostate followed by a short recovery period.
> What a great service from PSA test to full recovery, just proving that the NHS system is capable of supplying the best treatment in the world.
