"Why mess with something that works"

About: Ryalls Park Medical Centre, Yeovil

After being with this surgery ova 20 years I am now sadly considering leaving. During the past 11 yrs I have seen the same Dr. During the past 4 yrs that was almost twice a wk due to deterioration of my health, until they left end of June. This has left the surgery in a mess. After an awful appointment with another Dr there I spoke to the senior practice Dr who was very understanding and arrangeed for myself to be seen by a different Dr. I only needed a repeat prescription for a certain drug but for the 1st time in my many years there,

I was told the only Dr who could give me this drug was the dr I refused to see. Not only has this doctor left myself in tears on previous visit but also another family member. If they had told me this a week ago I would of moved to another surgery then, but they left it until a few hours before my appointment to call and tell me I was being moved from seeing a lovely caring thorough dr to a Dr that treated myself like a number paying their wages not a person with a massive multitude of health issues, one of which can be fatal if put under undue stress. They have no compassion or understanding on many of my conditions which just infuriated me further. I will see this Dr on this occasion but only because I need my medication. It has taken 7 yrs to find a combination of medication that suits my health, now they are trying to change it....why!!!

I have asked to speak to the practice manager about my situation on many occasions only to be told every time that they don't see people face to face and to put it in writing. Again iv been made to feel like my feelings don't matter. This 1 Dr is giving the practice a bad name.

The reception staff however are absolutely amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them and many times I have needed immediate attention on arrival and the receptionist has gone above and beyond to make this happen. I cannot express in words how amazing the admin staff are. I now have a very hard decision to be made that could effect my health enormously if I make the wrong one. It's a shame that this has happened as up until now i have recommended this surgery to everyone I talk too. I'm hoping this situation can be resolved without having to leave the surgery as my whole family have been there all their lives.
