"Bowel Cancer Screenng Facility in Endoscopy at..."

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

My first visit was after 2 Positive Screen tests for Bowel Cancer some 8 weeks ago , i attended a consultation review at Bolton Hospital and was interviewed l by a very well informed and enthusiastic consultant who took me through the results of the screen test and options available and all my medical details. This pro active patient information was invaluable and instructive and relaxing , I was very impressed . This particular consultant after discussion then arranged a Colonoscopy investigation on the Endoscopy Unit explaining thoroughly what it entailed and the probable outcomes and exactly what would happen ,it was extremely informative and helpful.

I subsequently attended the unit for the Colonoscopy and could not fault the service and care and attitudes of all the staff involved , they were considerate , caring , friendly , helpful and extremely professional and it was a joy to be on the unit, I was carefully guided through every step of the procedure and given options at every opportunity

We are not supposed to give names of staff involved but I must mention four particular staff members for the manner in which they cared for me and conducted my Colonoscopy and looked after me on my short visit .

To say I was very impressed would be an understatement and I came away from the Endoscopy unit and Bolton proud of our |NHS service and pleased as a Patient at the service and care I received
