My wife having recently had major spinal surgery at Stoke University Hospital and following a physotherpy appointment the physiotherapist suggested she consult her own practitioner with related recovery problems rather than waiting to see her Consultant

Mid August. She rang today August 1st explained her circumstances and requested an appointment to be told they were not making any GP appiontments till the end of August.
Having responded with "Pardon" the receptionist repeated the statement. There was no apology or embarrassment.
At this point my wife gave up and came to me in tears. This surely can not be deemed an acceptable or safe service by any standards.
