"Appaulingly Inadequate Service"

After being referred to this service by MIND for suicidal thoughts and previous overdose, I was initially told they couldn't help

I was then referred a second time by the police who contacted the service again.

2 days later, still no help, except for a single telephone call where they thought I needed treatment for alcoholism, quoted an incorrect mobile number to me, showed no interest in attaining a correct number, misquoted medication they thought I needed, and didn't call back.

Feeling rather helpless as there is no where else to go.

Hello

I'm really sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience of the Crisis Assessment Service.

I appreciate how difficult it can be for people to share that they need help; so when this happens, it is the job of the professional team to provide a helpful and caring response.

I've checked the process the administration team are working with when they get a call like yours. They were clear that they should put this through to a manager. Sometimes this isn't possible but they should let you know of the delay and get back to you when this happens.

The team have reviewed your feedback and would like to support you further in accessing support and investigate your concerns.

Please contact the crisis assessment team on 0300 300 1485 between the hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday and ask to speak to a manager who can review your concerns.

Alternatively, if you don't feel able to do this, please contact our Patient Advice Liaison (PAL’s) department on 0800 052 5790 to support you to facilitate this.

With kind regards
