About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

What I liked

Nothing

What could be improved

Car parking is a nightmare.

After my first appointment I was told to make an appointment for 4 weeks' time. The desk could not do this. I managed to eventually get an appointment for 24 weeks later.

At my third appointment I waited an hour to be told that, as I did not require surgery, there was nothing that could be done. I was actually told: "I can't use a scalpel on you, so I can't do anything, although after a few more year's wear and tear you might need an operation". No account was taken of my constant pain and no further help was proposed. I felt like I was being pushed out of the room. Only after questioning was I told that I should return to my GP and get a referral to a rheumatologist as some of my blood test results were 'at the high end'. I had to ask twice what these tests were.

I was really upset with the wayI was treated and the lack of any help offered to me. There seems to be no joined up thinking: I now have to wait for the test results to be sent to my GP and then have to have another referral and another waiting period before seeing another consultant (or, more likely, their F2).

Anything else?

The hospitalis far too hot, with fans at full speed in the consulting rooms.
