"Severe abdominal pain month and half into chemo"

Actually happened twice. 3 days after first T/C chemo stomach pain quickly spread round entire abdomen. Called the number in my cancer pack and they advised visit to Larbert Clinical Assessment Unit. After a few hours the pain subsided, eventually the on-call doctors decided it was stomach acid and gave me pepto-bismol. My oncologist decided to change to A/C chemo as the related anti-sickness medicine is easier on the stomach.

2 weeks after second chemo severe abdominal pain again, whole stomach spreading downwards and round the back. Waited several hours before going to A&E. Very young doctor Stark was determined to definitely find the exact cause. After morphine he could prod around until I yelped when he got near the gallbladder. Was kept in surgical assessment ward overnight, then transferred to ward B11. They put me on intravenous antibiotics, ultrasound the next day to verify both gallbladder infected and gallstones. MRI scan 2 days later for clearer images of location of gallstones, then camera the next day to try to move the bile duct blockage, but at this time the gallstones had moved on their own. During this week in hospital, staff from consultants to nurses to cleaners to porters were all extremely happy to be helping me. I felt like I was being looked after.
