"White Ribbon Day: raising awareness of domestic violence "

The Domestic Violence and Abuse Community of Interest from Nottinghamshire Healthcare hosted a White Ribbon Event in the reception of Highbury Hospital. Here are a few comments from people that attended:

It's really important to have an awareness of the issues of domestic violence and rape, we are privileged to be here to support this day - Jackie Meht (supervisor and psychotherapist at Nottingham Rape Crisis 0115 941 0440)

Todays event has been an opportunity to raise awareness of the issues of domestic abuse and the support services available locally. This includes the 24 hour helpline for women 0800 800 0340. Male survivors can seek support through the male advice line 0808 801 0327 - Margaret Cheetham (specialist practitioner domestic abuse safeguarding)

The White Ribbon Campaign is essential in providing advice and info, a great service, it deserves much more recognition and funding - Kerry Hayman
