My daughter (4) trapped her finger in the hall door, 70% of the top of her finger was hanging off.
We went to A&E, where they assesed her and bandaged it up and given pain killers, to save distressing her any more we were allowed to take her home as it was 10pm and let her have a good night sleep as long as we returned by 8am the next morning.
We arrived the next morning and the staff were so helpful and did just not speak to us but to my daughter what would happen.
After surgery which went well the staff were coming and checking on her and once she was more awake they offered her a sandwich but she said no, but would have some toast, the nurse arrived with a tray which had 2 slices of toast, 2 rich tea biscuits, yougart and a packed of skips and as glass of apple juice. Once she finished that she was allowed to play and draw, but due to her having surgery we had to wait 5hrs to make sure everything was fine - which it was.
The nurse explained the aftercare organised prescription and arranged appointments for the dressing clinic for us.
I cant praise the staff enough at sick kids hospital, even though to is something we would not want to go through again!
"Staff so friendy and nice"
