"Grandson with a broken thumb"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

Being acutely aware of all the horror stories about waiting for hours upon hours to be seen at A& E I can’t say I was thrilled at the prospect of a visit with my young grandson. I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised - not only were we seen quickly and moved through depts (X-ray ) quickly the staff were absolutely lovely. Felt in really good hands with the ENP on duty - can’t praise the staff enough - every single one of them had a really lovely way about them despite it being a Saturday night - my grandsons first experience of A& E was definitely NOT a traumatic event thanks to these lovely people

Dear Maxhad,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I was pleased to read that your grandson was seen and treated quickly and that being in the department was not a traumatic experience for him.

Our Emergency Nurse Practitioners are fantastic aren't they? If you would like your comments to be passed on directly to the people who treated your grandson then please email me his name and date of birth at Claire.gilroy@nhs.net. In the meantime, I will share this story at our morning huddle. Hearing positive feedback improves staff morale so thank you.

I wish your grandson a speedy recovery.

Claire
