"What's the point of an unhelpful helpline"

About: Peterborough City Hospital / Maternity

Called the maternity helpline after complications with my C section.

Was confronted by a dismissive rude midwife. Was told I'd been given incorrect info from the GP and previous call to this helpline. She promised a call back... this was 8am. By 6pm still no call back. Phoned again... same midwife. She said she'd been to busy to check! Too busy? What about me? In too much agony to look after my new born... does that mean nothing to them? She then called back and said to come in next day. She laughed off the heamatoma and said "some people get them from a natural birth on their perineum, imagine how much that hurts?!" Why do I give a care about how much that hurts when I'm laid in agony on the sofa 12 days after my C section. RUDE and UNHELPFUL. This service is a disgrace to the NHS. Get people who want to actually help, rather than people who would be much better suited to back of house roles.

Still no further forward and feeling even more depressed after this call than I already did before.
