"They don't realise how much they are valued"

About: Cardiology / Coronary Care Unit Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I was out walking a close friends dogs with my husband when I started to feel hot I collapsed twice just across from my house my husband and a woman out walking her dog helped get me to the front door step when I collapsed again

my husband called for help I wasn't aware by that time what was going on as the chest pain was agony and my speech and coordination went funny. The ambulance arrived ASAP my husband said they were fantastic and were keeping him calm they got me into the back of the ambulance and gave me medication to save me. My Father came in the ambulance with me as they drove to Dundee Ninewells in record time sirens and light's going my father said they were great told him what was happening and what would happen at the hospital kept him calm and saved his daughter's life. I arose as we arrived can remember the paramedic driving said "hello sunshine" paramedics took me to the cath lab and wished me all the best and kept my father calm. The two female paramedics done a professional, fantastic job dont realise how much they are valued and appreciated I wish I knew who they were just to say thanks and keep doing a fafantastic job.

Dear Lillymoo11,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely piece about your experience with the Scottish Ambulance Service. By the sounds of it you have had a very worrying situation and your loved ones will have been very distressed.

To hear that our crew arrived promptly and treated you in the manner that we would expect and more, is so nice to hear. It is also great to here that not just you but, your father and husband were included in that treatment as it is all too easy to become solely patient focused and forget about family and friends.

Please allow me to make contact with the crew that attended you that day. I think it would be great if their manager also knew what a wonderful job they done and the impression they made. Can I ask you email me on alan.martin2@nhs.net. I will need the date and time that the ambulance was called, the address to which the ambulance attended and your name.

I hope to talk to you very soon!

Kind Regards

Alan
