I am reallly disappointed with the service Lister Medical Centre has given my daughter who has recently had a baby. The baby is now 12 weeks old and, despite having a c-section, she has still not had her six week check, despite asking about it on several occasions.

Her baby was also given an appointment for his first vaccination later than it should have been.

My daughter tried to make appointments for these but was told she would have to go on a waiting list for an appointment.

This is really not acceptable, especially when she has a friend living locally whose baby is one month older and has had all his vaccinations and medical care is up to date.

I have no idea how the new larger surgery is going to function properly.

I am very sorry to read of your disappointment regarding the service Lister Medical Centre has given your daughter.

When a patient has a baby, our protocol is to send a letter to the new family asking them to get in touch to make an appointment for their 6-8 week check.

The assessment is named the 6-8 week check, however, the doctor will assess the baby for development at the age they attend.

Occasionally, there may be a short delay in arranging appointments so waiting lists are in operation.

Again, we are sorry that you are not happy as the staff do their best to provide a high standard of care to all our patients.

If your daughter would like to discuss any aspect of the above, please do ask her to get in touch with me at the practice when I would be happy to speak or meet with her.
