"GTT waiting area needs air con"

About: Birmingham Women's Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

The GTT waiting area is full of pregnant women who are having the glucose test done to check for diabetes. The room was soo hot full of pregnant women who haven't eaten waiting for at least 2 hours. It was unbearable. causing women to be sick and faint. This room needs air con! ! !

Thank you for your feedback, firstly I would like to sincerely apologise for our delayed reply to your comment. We have shared your feedback with Sarah who manages the GTT area. She has extended an apology to you for your uncomfortable experience in the waiting area, and provided an update on the improvements she has made;

"We are aware of the need to provide a comfortable setting during periods of warm weather.

Dyson fans were purchased, window blinds are closed and a cool water dispenser is now located within the waiting area.

The area is regularly monitored to ensure that all is done to ensure the comfort of our patients."
