New streaming process is very frustrating- waited half an hour with a bleeding finger to be seen by streaming nurse (third in queue on arrival) during which time about ten more people arrived - including those carrying crying children. There were not enough seats in waiting area and some confusion about who was next. A numbering system or at least some priority to children would be better. Psychologically it’s not great to have upset parents and injured patients sat in random seats self prioritising who goes next while the receptionist is sat there with no one. We go to streaming nurse when we’ve worked out that we are next- who asks if we’ve queued.
We then go to book in with receptionist who initially told us to get in the queue we’ve just been in. It’s like a Monty Python sketch.
Eventually backup was called when someone saw the queue and realised there was a peak in demand.
However the staff here are excellent - although it took three hours the care received eventually was thorough and I have no complaints.
"Excellent care but A and E streaming process..."
