"saying thank you"

About: Watford General Hospital

After leaving hospital I realised I wanted to send a small gift to Flaunden Ward for their care.

Being still a bit uncertain on my feet ,my 84 year old somewhat disabled husband took the gift with difficulty to Main Reception Desk and parked inappropriately as there was nowhere to park nearby nowhere to park nearby.

The Receptionist asked why my husband couldn't take the gift himself to Flaunden Ward - not understanding my husband's disability and advanced age - but reluctantly agreed to forward it .. Surely there should have been some sympathy shown to a Senior Citizen who was obviously unaware of hospital protocol and stressed because he was parked in an inappropriate place? He came back to the car in a very tense mood - totally avoidable. I shall not be delivering any thank you gifts again, sorry Flaunden Ward, But life is too short to endure these inconsiderate manners which upset people very much.

We are sorry to hear that your kind gesture was not received in the way it should have been, given your husband’s needs. We thank you for your thoughtfulness, and are glad to hear that your care at Flaunden Ward was a positive experience.
