The day before the procedure I used the laxative sachets and fasted from 4pm until after the procedure.
On arrival at the hospital I was asked relevant details about health etc and then had a couple of checks such as weight and blood pressure. I then waited a short while until it was my turn.
The nurses were great and the lady who did the procedure was fantastic. I was made to feel very comfortable and given the options of gas and air and sedation. I chose both. As the procedure was taking place I was told exactly what was happening and could watch on the screen. I couldn't have been looked after better.
Although it's not a comfortable experience neither is it too painful. I was asked all the time if I was ok and I was monitored throughout. It helped that all the nurses were very friendly and professional.
When the procedure was over I was told the results straight away. I was then taken to a recovery ward where I was under observation for about fifteen mins and then given a cup of tea and biscuits. I would advise anyone referred for this procedure to have it.
