"Review of Marden Medical Practice, Shrewsbury."

My husband and I enrolled with this practice a couple of years ago. We narrowed the choice to five star practices and, after a few phone calls, chose this one.

It was the right choice for us in every particular:

The dedicated parking is adequate, well-spaced and on a level surface. The grounds are pleasing, well-kept with specimen plants in display beds lining the approach; not important some might say but the feeling of invitation and confidence this initially promotes in the visitor cannot be overestimated.The entrance is wheelchair friendly so that access for all is no problem.There is also a dispensing chemist in the grounds providing a convenient choice to get one's medication whilst there (if wanted) rather than pick it up from elsewhere.

The practice itself is on one level which, again, means access for all is easy and there are helpful friendly staff on reception; the waiting areas are are clean, light, airy and pleasing - and with good seating set out in a nice design. Among the usual information pamphlets is a case of books to delve through, should one want. Waiting there is as nice an experience as possible.

Now to the GPs themselves: as the practice has five star ranking we expected it to be good but have found that the quality of their service has exeeded even this: literally going the extra mile they have been innovative and responsive on every occasion - listening, thinking and then offering the best possible care to match individual circumstance be it direct advice, investigations, prescribing medication, clinics or specialist referral etc. All this with courtesy and a smile. What more could one want?

This practice also has excellent and efficient nurses and a physio.

Take my word: the proof of the pudding is in the eating and, as patients, we really can vouch for it - it has our highest commendation. It just cannot be beaten.
