" Wednesdays are carers pamper day at Ashley House"

About: Ashley House

(as a carer),

My husband is an alcoholic he has had a stroke and has brain damage and a bleed on the brain.

I went to Ashley House for advice and help. I spoke to Donna, she listened to me, let me cry, she is so easy to talk to. She is so supportive, offers me all kinds of advice, Donna is always available, I can phone any time.

Wednesdays is carers pamper day, I have been having acupuncture and reiki, it is run by vida therapy. Tracey does the acupuncture on me and Diane does massage, manicures etc.

When I first went in August it was so hard for me, I was so upset and depressed, could not stop crying, but with their help I have started to relax and take things one day at a time, they told me that everyone is like that at first.

The acupuncture is helping me a great deal, people tell me that I am looking much better, my two daughters have noticed a difference in me in the last few weeks. I really look forward to Wednesdays now, to go to Ashley House and meet people in my same situation and can cry if I want to, which I do often.
