"A huge let down"

We had made the effort to join this surgery having moved to the area and also recently having a baby but the experience over the 3 times we had to interact with staff meant that we had no option but to move to another surgery.

On one particular occasion, we were treated with such poor level of service that they should be embarrassed to represent the NHS. Simply trying to understand where we should take our newborn for shots resulted in reception staff being rude on the phone (this was also the feedback from another NHS service who contacted them on our behalf) and then in person.

We actually had (I shall assume) a senior member of the team there speak to us as if we were children. It was quite frankly, disgusting and to think of the way my wife was spoken to still makes me extremely angry.

What has being most surprising out of this is that other NHS services we've mentioned this too have also said they had heard negative feedback.

In the end, we've found a surgery closer to where we live where the staff are amazing and we feel part of a community. My mother has worked for the NHS all her working life so i understand the sacrifices people make to provide service to the community, therefore i don't make these comments lightly.

I'm sure someone will respond to say they take training seriously and treat members of the public with respect, but if you have a newborn and I'm sure will want to be reassured that a surgery will try and help you navigate any issues and provide support, this surgery will only result in leaving you very upset, frustrated and angry. Look elsewhere.
