"No time to care"

About: Lance Lane Medical Centre

When I moved to Liverpool from somewhere I had a great relationship with Doctor, Lance lane was recommended to me for its history of good service. Things started off well and I was able to form a good relationship with a competent GP who was accessible and patient given I have a complicated and rare genetic condition. Seemingly and Increase in Work load made this relationship harder to sustain and when I was forced to see a new GP due to availability, I was made to feel like my complexity was my fault and was actually told by one doctor I was taking too much time. I was also accused of ‘doctor shopping’ when my regular GP was in fact on leave. It was not a devious ploy as suggested but rather the attitude of a doctor who had clearly not taken the time to understand my condition. I have since left the surgery due to a series of awful encounters in which I was made to feel like a drug seeker and an annoyance. My Increasing frustration was put then down to psychiatric symptoms! I have since moved to a new surgery in which the practice manager (who was never available at Lance lane) presented my case to the team, explained my condition and I have since been treated with dignity, respect and empathy. I actually cried on my first appointment when someone was kind and took the time to acknowledge my difficulties. I don’t know how the service use to run but I would not reccomend it now.
