"Fracture clinic review"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

We have recently visited the fracture clinic at Basildon hospital after my toddler broke his leg. The staff who applied his plaster were fantastic, very patient when he got scared and kind and gentle with him. Once we had an appointment we didn’t have to wait long to be seen, all very efficient. However, trying to ring up to get an appointment is ridiculous! I’ve called 5/6 times and on each occasion have been on hold for Minimum of 40 minutes. No wonder so many appointments are missed, people must get bored of being on hold waiting!

When we have been waiting in the fracture clinic there is one lady working hard dealing with the public and normally 2/3 out the back, one of which is always on her mobile. Surely their time could be better used answering the phones!!!!!
