"Wonderful eye department"

I visited the walk in centre on 9th April as I had a sudden loss of vision in my right eye. My treatment there by a lovely doctor was exceptional. He referred me to the stroke team who were excellent and I had a ct scan and various tests straight away and was referred to the eye department at the same time. I saw a wonderful female ophthalmic surgeon on the same day, had more tests and was given immediate IV treatment and this has resulted over time regaining more of my sight in that eye which is all down to the Consultant's expertise, she even stayed after clinic was finished as she wanted to check blood results before I could go home. She has a fabulous nursing team working with her and I have been followed up by her lovely kind female Registar regularly.

I have also had an MRI scan since and more tests soon. I cannot praise these professionals highly enough and feel lucky to live in an area where we have access to these excellent services so close to home, I could not have had better treatment.

The Opthalmic Department is run very efficiently and always on time. I was also amazed how quickly the Pathology Lab can send the results through on the same day.

I have not needed the services of an NHS hospital since I was in my 20s and I am now 60 and they made a scary time a lot easier. I hope the staff concerned get to see positive feedback as they deserve so much praise. Thank you
