I have contacted the patient care team today, and I hope to get a response, but I did want to share my experience.
I was referred by my doctor in October 2017 and come Feb this year when I hadn't heard anything, I queried this with my doctor, who discovered that the referral was cancelled. I did enquire as to the justification and why I wasn't alerted to this, but no explanation was forthcoming.
So my doctor placed another referral request with them, and I've been waiting 5 months. Several phone calls with the hospital, with this mornings conversation suggesting that no indication could be provided as to when I might get an appointment.
All the resources I've read suggest that the 18 week maximum waiting time is a 'legal right', but guidance is conspicuously absent about what action to take if this legal right is not fulfilled by a service.
9 months on from the initial appointment, I am living with an undiagnosed condition that diminishes the quality of my life every waking moment.
