"ENT Castle Hill - Disgusting Waiting List Period"

I was placed on the ENT waiting list at Castle Hill Hospital in Hull and I have been told that because I am waiting for revision surgery (apparently not urgent as revision) under the consultant I am having to wait until October / November for an appointment. I think this is disgusting of the NHS making a patient wait. I understand that this is the case for most but when I suffer from Asthma also I find it unacceptable having to wait that long. I have called to see if there is anything that could be done to speed up the process, I called 875875 and was put through to the wrong department when I clearly stated I needed to speak to the ENT Waiting List, I was then passed through to the correct department and had to hold the line as a consultant who did not know how to deal with my call answered the call. I was advised that I would have to either speak/ see my doctor to get them to write a letter to the consultant to try and move me up the list. I was also advised that if I did get my doctor to send a letter to my consultant it is ultimately the consultants decision and may not have any impact on my surgery date. Basically I am been advised to waist my time trying to get something done to speed up the process that would probably not work anyway. What is the point of this? I feel like the NHS are letting good tax payers down by making them wait almost a full year for an operation date for something they need and I find this level of service disgusting and appalling.
