I used the recovery college to find details of mindfulness courses in my area. I booked and attended the six sessions at St Philip's church to see what this was about and found that my sense was correct in that it was the right course for me as I suffer from severe pain due to arthritis of the spine. The ladies that run the course were very knowledgeable and easy to follow in their discussions. I tried the meditations shown to us at every stage and gradually found they are of use to me in alleviating pain provided the pain is not too severe. On occasions the pain was unmanageable I could only use medication to control it and suffer until it subsided. In all I found the sessions very useful and would like a follow up to a more advance course.
