About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

What I liked

the Exit Door

What could be improved

Actually getting a diagnosis rather than being told to go home and take more pain killers. Result was that I was told to go back to my GP as specific tests done in one department were negative so they discharged me. Why could they not refer me on to any other department within the hospital, instead of sending me back to my GP to start the whole process and waiting time again.

We had been up all the previous night until 3am in the medical assessmet unit and were told to come back later in the day. Went back at 1.00pm, tests were finished at about 3.pm but it took until after 5pm for a Doctor to discharge me. When the Doctor discharged me they could not give me any info about what was actually wrong with me, and sent me home in considerable pain.

Anything else?

If one department can't diagnos the problem why can't a patient be referred to another department within the hospital, instead of being told they are discharged and should go back to their GP for yet another referral. The staff in A&E are fantastic, but the rest just fob you off back to your GP.
