Since I have suffered from severe hypertension for at least a year I was asked to undergo a 24 hour ABPM in April. I also have only one kidney.
In the subsequent consultation two weeks later I was told that the test results were not available and, though some mention was made about changing my medication, nothing happened which is obvious since there was no date on which to make any decision. I am already on the maximum dosage for the medication I take.
I had hoped that the results might be included in the letter to my GB, but they weren't. When I made a Subject Access Request I was told that the test results do not exist. Peculiarly I then received an anonymous phone call claiming to come from the hospital telling me that the results did exist, but that I couldn't receive them yet. I must discount this call since it breaks hospital rules and the hospital's legal obligation to me to hold records that are inaccessible, not to mention that the data is now only of historic interest.
I have written asking the hospital to repeat the test without delay and report the test findings to me directly. The Hospital's own Access to Records Department have offered to act on my behalf to get to discover the new results without delay.
