"Experience of A&E and surgery in Dumfries Hospital"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Due to an accident I had to make use of the A&E services at Dumfries Hospital. The staff in A&E were fantastic and I was looked after very well.

However the injury was so severe that I had to be admited for surgery to my hand. I felt that one member of the surgical team was rude and quite abnoxious towards me and a night nurse was uncaring when they removed the catheter from my arm.

The after care from the hospital failed.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is so nice to hear how good the A&E staff were. A visit to A&E can be such a stressful time for people and great staff can make a huge difference to how it feels. I will pass on your kind words to them.

I'm sorry to hear that the rest of your experience hasn't been so positive though. Again, this will be shared with the staff but, if you would be willing to, I would be grateful to understand more about it so we can improve. You can contact me directly on 01387 272733 if you would like to discuss it further.

Best wishes

Sally
