I required an Ultrasound so expected to hear within 6 weeks. I finally rang up about 7 weeks after request. The person I spoke to at the hospital said 8 weeks was the average waiting time. This was my first time using this hospital. I said it was lucky it wasn’t “Life Threatening” , the reply was sympathetic but was told this sadly covered everyone requesting service at this site. I now understand that if my doctor thought it was something ominous I would have been sent to Addenbrooks or similar.
When I did get my Ultrasound the woman performing it was kind, considerate and gentle. Was even asked what I was worrying about at the back of mind, what did I think was wrong. I explained and she totally reassured me having performed the screen that there was absolutely nothing to worry about, that put my mind at peace, great lady. This appointment was my 1st but it truly was a good old fashioned NHS experience. Have only one worry now and that is I hope my use of this site will stop the horrendous hikes around Addenbrooks for screens or similar.
