I have type diabetes and have been trying for over a year to have a check up as it is impossible to make an appointment. When i call i tell then i have diabetes but this means nothing, im greeted with the same old we have no appointments, i work and cant really plan my day until after 8am when i normally told no appointments even though you have a pre existing medical condition. it's funny my gp has been sending me letters to make an appointment for my diabetes check up. so i wrote back to her, asking her how can i make an appointment when each time i call i am told sorry no appointments.

Thank you for your comments on NHS Choices.

We are very sorry to hear that you were not happy with our services recently.

As you mentioned in your comment you were not able to make an appointment recently when you tried to book an appointment for your regular diabetic check. Please note that all our doctors’ and nurses’ appointments are pre-bookable for up to 6 – 8 weeks in advance and we advise all our patients who don’t need urgent appointment on the same day to book for any future available appointments. Appointments available to book on the same day are very limited and are designed mainly for those patients who must be seen on the same day.

Please note that there is also Patient Online Access available to all our patients, where patients can book or cancel their appointments online. Online appointments are available to book within 1-3 days at the moment. Please speak to our reception team if you would like further information.

Thank you again for your time and your feedback. We will try our best to improve our services and would like to hear from you again hopefully with more positive feedback.
