"Disgusting treatment tonight"

About: The Maidstone Hospital / Accident and emergency

I actually don’t know where to start with my complaint about how shocking I was treated in Maidstone A&E on Thursday 12th July 2018 I arrived at A&E after suffering with gallbladder pain for a day prior to my visit to the hospital I had seeked advice from 111 and my doctors surgery on the 12th July.

I was given a higher does of medication and ended up having an allergic reaction and the pain I was in became very unmanageable so I phoned 111 as my doctor was closed but was told to ring my doctors so In the end after 2 days of suffering in pain and non stop sicknessI bit the bullet and went to my local A&E.

I checked in and see the wait was 4hours I found myself a seat and got as comfy as I could after an hour was called threw to see a nurse I explained what had gone on the last two days and how I’m still awaiting surgery after this problem going on for 7months and was assured I would be called threw by another nurse to have bloods taken and would be put on an IV for pain relief so after taking a seat again for half hour I was called threw to have the bloods done, bloods was taken but no pain relief would be given until the doctors had seen me so back I went to the waiting area in A&E after a couple of hours wait I was called threw by the doctor who didn’t know why I was there and he told me I was on the highest pain relief already which I have at home to try manage the pain but he could connect me to a drip if I wanted but it would be the same stuff that I’ve already taken over the last few days to try manage the pain myself, he phoned pembury surgeon that was on call and they said I have to wait for my appointment to come threw. I had been sitting in A&E nil by mouth since Just after lunch time and in a mega amount of pain for just under 4hours after having my belly pushed on and being poked I was then being told there is nothing more that could be done I was aloud to go home the way I was treated tonight was disgusting!

None of the staff talk to each other and silly cases get more attention then the serious cases Like mine I will not be going back to Maidstone A&E I would rather drive the 40 minuets and get treated better then I would go to Maidstone and be told a load of half hearted rubbish by a doctor who didn’t really care.
