"Hearing aids"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

I was told on February 14th that I required Two hearing aids by the Audiologist at QAH, the website says,"If it is decided they are needed then a few weeks later you will be fitted with hearing aids and given instruction on their use". It is now July 13th I have contacted the Dept several times over the months asking if there was an update on waiting times being told there wasn't an update. Yesterday I went into the dept and got them to check I was still on there list. I was told I am still on the list and when I asked for a likely wait time to get the hearing aids fitted they couldn't say, not even if it would be in the next Two years. I asked if they could transfer me to a different hospital to have the hearing aids fitted and was told I would have to get the GP to refer me again to a different hospital. Whatever their problems are, they need managers to come up with solutions that don't include leaving patients to just wait indefinitely without timescales.
