"Terrible"

About: Stonehill Medical Centre

I was a patient here for years prior to moving to University. Once moved to University i changed practises for ease of access. I recently moved back from university for 3 months however i had forgotten to get a prescription for my antidepressant medication. I rang Stonehill Medical Centre and the woman on the phone was very helpful in telling me to come into the practise to register for temporary residency to ensure i would get my prescription before running out. I went to the practise the very next day to be told by a receptionist I would not be able to register for temporary residency and therefore would be unable to get the medication I needed. She suggested i rang my doctors at university and ask them to electronically send my prescription to a pharmacy near me, she then proceeded to tell me it's unlikely they'll do this as it needs to be requested in writing!!! So not only did i receive conflicting information i was also given absolutely useless advice and consequently have no antidepressant medication that I very much need!!! USELESS

It is disappointing to read that conflicting advice was given.

Whilst it is difficult to comment on individual cases,

I suspect the issue was due the address being outside of the Practice boundary and therefore, in an attempt to be helpful, the staff offered a suggestion as to how you may have been able to obtain your medication promptly.
