"Where's the care in this surgery?"

About: St. John's Street Surgery

Several months ago I was diagnosed with a life debilitating disease at this surgery. I was forced to ask for information regarding the condition on a separate visit, because at the time of the diagnosis I was so shocked at the way this devastating news was delivered that I couldn't think of what to say!

I had been complaining that something wasn't right for a long time before I was tested. Always being made to think nothing was wrong. On the day I received the result it was so matter of fact, as if I was being told it was just a cold, or something that will clear up. I was devastated by the news and asked the doctor on another visit to give me information about it.No advice from the doctor, but informed me of websites I can visit?? I have since sought the information myself as I feel there is absolutely no care at this surgery. Due to this I have discovered that the doctor has not carried out any further tests to identify the severity of my disease, neither has she advised on what I should look out for, in terms of the disease worsening, or ways I can manage it. It's so hard to believe that they expect you to rely on the Internet? ?

The doctors try to pass you off with painkillers rather than sourcing the problem. I can honestly say that in 15 years of being a patient here I always leave the surgery with unanswered questions.

Why have I stayed so long? Because I always thought when it matters I'll see a difference...boy was I wrong!

On the plus, the receptionists do a great job!
