"Quite literally life saving thanks"

About: Torbay Hospital

What I liked

I came to the Cardiology unit via A&E and the MAU ward. When I was admitted to the ward, the staff were already aware we werent from the area and had our 9 week old baby with us, so had a side room ready which was a great help. I then saw the Consultant on duty, who proceeded to look after me for the next 15 hours. She conducted a series of tests and scans during the day and evening. I was having significant heart problems which caused increasingly dangerous blackouts and heart rhythum problems. During this time she kept my partner informed of what was happening to me, and both her and the nurses provided reassurance to both of us. Before it was fully identified what treatment was needed, I was so poorly I came out of 2 blackouts with a full crash team in attendance. Until I was transferred to Plymouth Hospital later that night, during perhaps the most terrifying experience of mine and my partners life, the care, reassurance and support we both received, and the excellant medical treatment provided to myself was outstanding and faultless - we quite literally owe my life to the Consultant (and her team of nurses that day and evening and the crash team that night). We cannot thank you enough and I hope this is seen by both her and the hospital management team..

What could be improved

Faultless
