I attended A&E on a Sunday Morning after a fall injuring my face and arm. After a wait of about 1hr I was seen by a nurse practitioner she assessed me and sent me for X-ray, I returned and was called back in to be told I had a fractured bone in the arm and it was put in a sling. I was told I would get an appointment from fracture clinic. I was impressed with the service up to then. I did get a call from the fracture clinic but only to confirm the broken bone and to do exactly what the nurse told me previous day. I could not get on with the blue sling in the heat and high temps, i was in a lot of pain and I needed some more advice so I called the fracture clinic on two occasions I was told the nurse would ring back but didn't. So if you break a bone these days your left to your own devices ?? I was NOT impressed. Still in pain, I'm not wearing the sling all the time it's too hot thereby I don't feel the bone is healing
