"No help for my son"

About: General Practices in Grampian Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

My Son has a chronic immune suppression!  I’ve been trying for 2 years to have him get better. His recent blood Lab tests done privately, also was bitten by ticks that have transmitted Lyme Disease. After getting nothing and no help from NHS Grampian. I’ve had to travel to Germany! Again after last year I had to travel myself to Germany for Chronic undiagnosed Lyme disease. It’s appalling how myself and my son have been treated by NHS Grampian. I feel if the GP had given relevant antibiotics and read the new NICE guidelines then this could have helped him not to have chronic Lyme. 2 years of the Endocrinology team at ARI. Disgraceful they didn’t take a new blood test when we attended the clinic. His bone age is 1.5 years younger than his age! This is not good enough! Again now I’ve had to travel to Germany for specialist treatment for him.

It’s a complete disgrace seeing my son become so ill, weak and feel helpless! No GP help! Endocrinology no help. His body has no oxygen or iron! Huge IV’s of iron have had to be given. His treatment isn’t over yet! I’m absolutely disgusted that again and again the “Doctors, Specialists” seem to know what’s going on without checking bloods or doing a bone scan. Also heart problems leaky pulmonary valve! A child that has no energy and lacks self esteem and catches every virus going! It’s a chronic illness.
