About: Marisco Medical Practice

I find this practice lacking in care for the community.

I am a carer for my wife and have found it impossible to get an appointment to see a doctor, only being offered the sit and wait clinic, as it is painful for the wife to sit around in the wheelchair this is not an alternative.

We needed an appointment to talk about a recent review about the wife's pain management, as we were referred back to the practice from the pain management team at Louth.

We recently returned to the pain management team to find out there reported to the practice back in February as to 3 alternative medicines that the doctor may want to try. We have not been contacted as to these options. We have tried to make appointment to talk about these options, but only been offered the sit and wait clinic.

The wife has also been referred for a DXA Scan back on 11th June 2018, at which point we were advised to leave it 2 weeks and then ask the GP practice for the report.

We phoned the practice on the 27th June to be told the report and just been received and the doctor will look at the report and will be in touch in 2 days, if we do not hear anything to get in touch again after a week.

The wife phoned the practice today 10th July to be told no doctor had looked at the report yet and to not phone again. What is the point of having tests and reports sent to the practice if nobody is going to look at them.

Dear Steve

We are sorry to hear you find us lacking in care. The Sit &Wait clinic really is the best way to get seen in the shortest time. Staff are able to give you an idea of the time you can expect to be seen, this is to help avoid patients hanging around all morning. We would like to talk to you in more depth about the report. It is Practice Policy not to contact every patient whose results are “normal” as the volume of such results are astronomical. However without further detail, we are unable to investigate this for you. It is absolutely NOT Practice Policy to EVER tell a patient “not to phone again” and again we would like to investigate this, please could you make yourself known to any member of the Management team and be assured you will be treated with respect & the utmost confidentiality.
