"Positive and proactive"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I attended my GP twice recently for lower back pain and it was suggested I attend this clinic which does not require a written referral from your GP

I did so on early this week and it was excellent

The preliminary paperwork was straightforward and I waited only 10/15 minutes before seeing Lynn one of the physiotherapists who works at this Drop in clinic

After reading my paperwork and chatting through more health questions she examined my back movement and then showed me several strengthening exercises

She also referred me to Healthy Lifestyles  and discussed suitable exercise classes

This really is such a positive and proactive way to tackle back pain

Well done to all involved

Dear Cat L,

Thank you for taking the time to post your positive comments. The acute low back pain drop in clinic is a fairly new initiative and we are delighted to hear you were able to access it easily and found the assessment and advice offered helpful.

It is always good to receive positive feedback, especially with new developments, and I will ensure your comments are passed on to Lynn and the rest of the team.

May I take this opportunity to wish you well as you recover from your episode of back pain, engaging with the exercises and advice Lynn has offered.

Kind regards,
