"Disabled Parking and Parkingeye"

About: Freeman Hospital

I recently fell foul of the above company Parkingeye which controls one of the small carparks on the hospital site.

I received a communication from this company stating that I was illegally parked, even though I was correctly parked in a disabled bay and displaying a blue badge.

It became apparent, after lengthy and protracted correspondence, that their cameras were

only capable of registering entry and exit times and incapable of discerning whether a car correctly parked in a disabled bay was in fact displaying a blue badge.

I suggest that the hospital authorities urgently review their contract with this company

as they are not fit to operate this car park where disabled and other bays coexist.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding disabled parking and Parkingeye at the Freeman Hospital. We have forwarded to the department who works closely with Parkingeye.

We are advised that signage in the car park provides guidance of the requirements, however if you would like these issues to be investigated please contact our Patient Relations Department on 0191 2231382 or patient.relations@nuth.co.uk with your contact details and they will be able to coordinate with the Directorate to review your experience.
