"Step 4 Mental Health Services"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Step 4 Psychotherapy Service

(as a service user),

I've suffering from quite severe anxiety and depression and attended an assessment with my local mental health service In April- the outcome was that I'd be referred to Step 4 Nottingham Psychotherapy Unit. I'm still waiting for contact from them & when I've called them today, I was told to go back to my local mental health team. Not sure why or what's happening - they've already made the referral. I just want some help & support - I've been waiting for months.

Thank you for leaving your feedback. I was sorry to read that your experience was unsupportive. I would like to speak to you if you feel able to contact us again and hopefully clear up some of the uncertainty you are left with following your phone call.

We appreciate you sharing your feedback as it makes a difference when thinking about what we can improve on within our services.

Regards

Hi Tom,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I’ve just tried to call the number - will try again on Monday.

After leaving this message a couple of weeks ago, I did as advised and contacted my local mental health team again (Rushcliffe).

I’m still awaiting contact back from them.

I’d just like to know what has happened to my referral as nobody seems to be able to tell me or get back to me.

As far as I was aware, I’d been referred on to the Step 4 Psychotherapy Unit and would hear from them. I’ve been waiting a long time now - this referral was made in April. (problems initially began in October last year).

I feel like I’ve received very little support.

Thanks for getting in touch.

Hello, my name is Jane Danforth. My role involves helping our service users, volunteers and staff to understand that Notts Healthcare wants to hear stories about our services. We reply to every story and it really helps us to improve what we do, how we do it and to hear about what works well too.

Hi Hey Bella

I was just reading through some older stories on Care Opinion and wondered if the teams got back in touch with you to sort out your referral?

If you get a chance please let us know

Best Wishes

Jane

Hi Jane, thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, I did not receive a referral to Step 4 in the end. I spoke with someone - it had been decided (not long after my assessment) that the referral would not be taken any further however, nobody had told me until this was looked into on the back of my complaint on here!

So I was waiting all that time for some help and it had already been decided I would not be getting any. They did explain things and did try to help with some advice for alternative services but in all honesty I've lost faith in the service. I was absent from work for 5 months with severe anxiety/depression and still over a year on, I still suffer - I feel like I've not been the same since and it's something I've had to just get on with by myself. I still feel let down but I guess there is not a lot that can be done.

Hello,

Following on from my story above, can anybody tell me how I'd access my reports from CBT I attended with Let's Talk Wellbeing (Nottingham) in early 2018 (that was where the referral was made from). I have the name of the practitioner etc.

Thank you,
