"Complete waste of time"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Pain Management

I walked to the hospital today 9.07.2018 and it took me almost an hour. On arriving at the hospital I asked where the pain management clinic was and I tried to find it, the staff did a great deal to help me find it I am grateful to a lady who took me to the lift as it was on the third floor green level three near dermatology. I went into dermatology by mistake and the woman in there looked at me as if I was an alien and was rude. I was the only patient waiting I was early and I waited. The consultants assistant came out and was extremely nice talking to me as a normal person. However the consultant was unhelpful talking to me as if I was five years old said nothing could be done and I in fact was directed here for no reason. I need a diagnosis for my pain and this hospital cannot help me, whether in fact I will get referred to st Thomas hospital in London is another matter as I am still waiting for a ct scan, an ultrasound and I have been given strong tablets by neurosciences that are dangerous to new born babies. Thankfully I am fifty and childbirth is not an option. So back to managing the pain by myself until a years wait probably palmed off somewhere else as usual.

We are very sorry that you encountered a member of staff who was rude from the dermatology department. This is not the type of behaviour the Trust advocates and for this we apologise. Please be assured that this feedback will be shared with the relevant manager for the service.
