"Emergency Care Provision"

About: Southampton General Hospital / Accident and emergency

My wife was referred to the AMU on Friday afternoon with symptoms of Type 1 diabetes by our GP. The process from GP to admission to the AMU, and subsequent treatment ran like clockwork, and a disturbing condition was remedied and addressed professionally and with great care. We would like to record our thanks to all of the people concerned, and record our gratitude for the service being available. My only concern was the noticeable levels of tiredness exhibited by the excellent staff, mentioned in the hope that recruitment and reward can be adjusted to keep these good people working at such a hard task.
