I have just completed a course of chemotherapy at QA, and although we don't yet know how successful it's been, I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to everyone in Oncology for my treatment. In particular, I would like to thank everyone in the Day Room for their high professional and caring standards. This department was obviously understaffed, with each health professional having to care for many patients undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. A demanding job, with no margin for error, yet I was never treated in less than in a professional, caring manner; and normally with friendliness and lots of laughs, from people under intense pressure. I am so grateful to everyone involved. Scary to think that if this were private health care, my first concern now would not be towards recovering from my chemo, but worrying about how I would pay off the loan I would have to have taken out to cover the many thousands of pounds my treatment must have cost. Thank you.
