About: Fryatt Hospital & Mayflower Medical Centre (harwich)

What I liked

Attended minor injuries department with daughter. Nurse did not know what a normal temperature for a teenager is, then told her swollen hand was not a minor injury and to call an out of hours doctor. Doctor referred back to Fryatt who then diagnosed as cyst. As we had no faith in the medical staff we saw, we took daughter to our own doctor who referred us for x-ray as possible fracture/dislocation.

What is the point of this hospital?

What could be improved

Better trained medical staff.

As the provider of the Minor Injury Service (MIU) on the Fryatt Hospital site, Anglian Community Enterprise is concerned about any poor experience reported by people using the facility. The level of service you have described here is not what we would expect and we would like to review the case further. To enable us to do so we would need more information, so would be grateful if you would please consider contacting our patient experience team to discuss further. Patient Experience Team contact details: email ACECIC.patientexperience@nhs.net, telephone 01206 288597. Thank you.
